The case for the UFO is the most comprehensive study yet published of a new and exciting field of knowledge : the appearance of space-navigable bodies among which are the "Flying Saucers". The book throws fascinating light on this subject and relates scores of events and phenomena to the whole theory of space flight.

The scope of this events and phenomena is so great that heretofore they have been explained only in terms of supernatural agencies. By bringing them into space flight categories and organizing and correlating them, Mr. Jessup, a noted astronomer, archeologist and explorer, shows that a common denominator exists among them. Thus, for the first time, he provided meaning to a subject which has heterofore appeared incomprehensible.

Included among the events and phenomena which Mr. Jessup describes and analyzes are the appearance of flying saucers, disappearing people and ships, planes and their crews, mysterious marks and imprints left in snow, sand and stone by hitherto unrecognizable agencies, meteors, etc. Furthermore, he analyzes the tremendous store of observational material compiled by astronomers, particularly in the nineteenth century, of lights, clouds and structures in our atmosphere. He deponstrates from the material he has collected that there is some form of intelligence in outer space directing these phenomena.

No other volume provides the reader with the essential wealth of so many and so varied developments in our cosmic environment. As Frank Edwards points out in his illuminating introduction : "To bring the rare combination of a scientifically trained mind, plus imaginative, fetter-free thinking to the mysterious subject of possible intelligence from outer space, is something which has been much needed. This is precisely what Mr. Jessup has done."
